Rome, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Shorter Hawks in their first Conference Carolinas game of the season in a 90-84 final score.
The Warriors shot 44.6% from the field and were 33.3% from beyond the arc in the midweek loss. Will Little led the team as he boasted 28 points. Behind him, Jaquay Randolph had 20 points. Both Jamarras McCray (13) and Josh Parker (12) also boasted double digits in scoring. Of the Warriors 16 assists in the game, Bobby Taylor had nine.
Southern Wesleyan pulled down 34 rebounds in the game with Jaquay Randolph gathering a monstrous 20 boards on his own to give him yet another double-double game in the 2025-26 season. Bobby Taylor and Jayden Guillaume each had blocks in the game. The Warriors stole the ball away six times with Taylor leading the team with two.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan won the opening tip-off of the game. Jaquay Randolph got the ball over to Will Little who went under the basket and laid the ball up. The Warriors' lead was short lived as Ja'Myas Davis laid the ball up. Bobby Taylor knocked down a three pointer, but a three pointer out of the hands of Davis kept the game tied up. Once again, Little laid the ball up into the basket. Shorter pressed on as Jalien Bush hit a three pointer. The Warriors continued to challenge as Taylor passed the ball under the basket to Jamarras McCray who got up to dunk it into the basket. With just over twelve minutes on the clock, McCray stole the ball away from the Hawks and sent it all the way down the court to Little. Little laid the ball up to give the Warriors a 20-17 point lead. Ashton Williams pulled down a rebound off a missed layup and got the ball down the court to Josh Parker. Parker knocked down a three pointer to give the Warriors a four point lead. Shorter fought back as Ja'Myas Davis hit another three pointer to give the lead back to the Hawks. The Warriors challenged back as Nathaneal Lewis and Hudson Yarbrough each got up baskets. The Hawks pressed on as Donovan Shangase was able to get the ball out to Jalien Bush who put up a three point shot to extend Shorter's lead to 38-29. Jaquay Randolph put up a couple shots to keep the Warriors within nine points of the Hawks. In the final seconds of the first half, Will Little put up a jump shot, but Shorter answered with a three pointer by Bush to give the Hawks a 45-36 point lead at halftime.
Shorter kept the Warriors off the board for the first minute and a half of the second half until Jaquay Randolph got up a mid-range jump shot. The Hawks answered as Ja'Myas Davis hit a three pointer off a pass by Donovan Shangase. Bobby Taylor stole the ball way from the Hawks and got it down the court to Will Little who slammed it into the basket. Chris Bibbs laid the ball up, but was fouled in the process to earn the and-one basket. Shorter continued to challenge as Michael Johnson laid the ball up. However, the Warriors quickly responded with a three pointer out of the hands of Josh Parker. Southern Wesleyan chipped away at Shorter's lead as Parker hit a jump shot and then Jamarras McCray drained a three pointer. Donovan Shangase stole the ball the away from the Warriors and sent it down the court to Johnson who dunked it into the basket to keep the Hawks lead at eleven. Southern Wesleyan would not go down quietly as with just over three minutes on the clock, Will Little laid the ball up into the basket. He was fouled on the play to allow him to go to the line to score the and-one and make it a two possession game. Johnson continued to be a thorn in the Warriors' side as he put up two layups to allow the Hawks to regain a nine point lead. With under a minute on the clock, Will Little knocked down a three pointer. The Warriors would not back down as Little laid the ball up into the basket on the buzzer. However, the Warriors fell to the Hawks in the end in a 90-84 final score.

Southern Wesleyan will return to Central, SC on December 1 to take part in a friendly game against SC Central Christian. They will then travel to Young Harris, GA on December 3 to resume Conference Carolinas action against the Young Harris Mountain Lions.
