How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan attacked the net early in the game as Bailey Meyer and Jessie Parrott each took shots on the net, but each of their shots were thwarted by the Golden Rams and goalkeeper Daphne Estrada.  The Warriors persisted as Jessie Parrott collected a pass from Hannah Kovalcik and then sent the ball into the back of the net to give Southern Wesleyan the lead.  Southern Wesleyan would not relent as they continued to pepper the goal with shots by Taylor Carper, Riley Webb, Alli Dalton and Ashley Caballero.  The Golden Rams went on the attack in an attempt to tie the game as Reilley Bain sent the ball toward the goal, but Katelyn O'Neill saved the shot from paying off.  Just before the end of the first half, Alli Dalton passed the ball over to Wynn Bradley.  Bradley sent the ball into the back of the goal to give the Warriors a 2-0 goal lead at halftime.

Southern Wesleyan attacked the net once again in the second half, but Abbey Kovalcik's shot was blocked.  Daphe Estrada was able to thwart several more shots by Jessie Parrott, Bailey Meyer and Madilyn Moles.  Sagine Atis drove the ball toward the net, but once again Katelyn O'Neill saved the attack from paying off in the Golden Rams favor.  With under ten minutes on the clock, the Golden Rams received a red card in the box which allowed Karina Pashkovets to come up to take a penalty kick.  Pashkovets sent the ball past the Golden Rams goalkeeper to extend Southern Wesleyan's lead to 3-0.  The Warriors went on to win the game in a 3-0 final score.
