How It Happened

The Lions quickly went on the attack in the first half as Mars Hill's leading goal scorer Peter Plougmand sent the ball toward the net.  However, Plougmand's shot could not find the back of the net.  Mars Hill pressed on with shots by Sam Bayly, but Luke Bramblett protected the goal and saved each attack.  The Warriors countered with a shots by Dillon Bennett and Gabriel Melendez, but each of their attacks were thwarted by James Price.  The Lions persisted with several more attacks on the goal.  With just over ten minutes left in the half their attacks paid off as Nolan McMillen passed the ball up to Sam Bayly who got the ball into the net to give Mars Hill a 1-0 advantage going into half time.

Mars Hill continued to push ahead in the second half as just ten minutes into the half, Adrian Faus scored their second goal of the evening.  The Lions scored again this time off the foot of Carrick Bromage.  Southern Wesleyan fought back as Alberto Esquivel wove past the Mars Hill defense and drilled the ball into the back of the net.  Adrian Faus took back-to-back shots on the goal, but Luke Bramblett dove in front of each attack to prevent the Lions from extending their lead further.  However, the Lions claimed the game in a 3-1 final score.
