How It Happened

The Bulldogs went on the attack quickly as Sydney Quinn and Kate Matuza sent the ball to the cage within the first two minutes of the game.  They continued to push ahead as they scored four more times before the Warriors went on the attack.  The Warriors cleared the ball down the field.  A foul in the eight meter allowed Lauryn Esposito to take a free position.  However, her shot went wide to keep the Warriors off the board.  With just under seven minutes on the clock, Mackenzie Camp scored the tenth goal of the game for the Bulldogs to force a running clock.

Sydney Quinn won the first draw of the second quarter to go on the attack early.  Mackenzie Camp took a shot on the cage, but Caroline Lark saved the attack from paying off.  Barton pushed on as Taryn Ugliono and Avery Woodcock scored back-to-back goals.  The Bulldogs were not done as they scored one last goal in the final second to give Barton a 16-0 goal advantage at halftime.

The Bulldogs struck again in the third quarter as they scored three times in four minutes.  Sydney Quinn scored once again to extend their lead to 20-0.  Mack Moreau picked up the ball and took a shot on the cage.  However, her shot went just wide of the cage.

Barton continued to attack, but Caroline Lark and the Warrior defense stood strong to keep the Bulldogs from extending their lead.  The Warriors picked up the ball and cleared it down the field.  Lauryn Espositio sent the ball over to Mack Moreau.  Moreau flipped the ball into the back of the cage to put the Warriors on the board.  Southern Wesleyan continued to challenge as Marley Kierstead sent the ball over to Moreau.  Moreau scored her second goal of the game.  Barton pushed on to win the game in a 22-2 final score.
