Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the Emmanuel Lions in their final regular season game on Wednesday evening in a 64-56 final score.
The Warriors shot 38.6% from the field and went 75% from the free throw line in the victory over the Lions. Senior Lexi Greffen led the team with 14 points. She was followed by Kaliah Kendrick, Shelby Glance and Dynasty Shegog with nine points each. Southern Wesleyan had 11 assists with three Warriors picking up two.
Southern Wesleyan totaled 38 rebounds during the game. Senior Shelby Glance led the team with 11 boards. Asia Pearly had two blocks with the other block coming off the hands of Glance. Tristen Berry pick up three of the 11 steals.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gate as Shelby Glance and Alexis Glover hit back-to-back jump shots. Lexi Greffen took the ball down the court on a fast break and laid it up into the basket. The Warriors continued to shut down the Lions offense and extend their lead as Greffen hit more baskets. The Lions countered with a jump shot by Tyasia Freeman, but a three pointer by Kaliah Kendrick allowed the Warriors to maintain an eight point lead. Emma Easterwood laid the ball up into the basket from in the paint, but on the next inbound the Warriors passed the ball out to Asia Pearly who sunk a three pointer. Dynasty Shegog laid the ball up into the basket and was fouled on the play to earn the and-one basket to extend the Warriors lead to 23-7 at the end of the first quarter.
Emmanuel kicked off the second quarter with a three by Makenzie Caldwell off a pass from Kristina Peach. However, Dynasty Shegog hit a jump shot seconds later to keep the Warriors ahead by fifteen. Shelby Glance put up a jump shot and then Lexi Greffen laid the ball up into the basket. Southern Wesleyan continued to press the Lions as Kaliah Kendrick collected a defensive rebound and threw it down the court to Shegog. Shegog secured the ball and laid it up into the basket to give the Warriors a 33-14 point lead with just over three minutes left in the first half of the game. Emmanuel challenged, but the Warriors led 38-21 going into the locker room.
Shelby Glance kicked off the third quarter for the Warriors with a three pointer to extend their lead to twenty. With just over eight minutes on the clock, Tristen Berry stole the ball away from Tyasia Freeman and took it down the court for a layup. Abby Crawford stepped behind the arc and hit a three pointer. The Lions fought back on baskets by Crawford and Freeman. Rahkhia Mack hit a jump shot for the Warriors, but, with just over four minutes on the clock, Sydney Wyatt stepped beyond the arc to hit a three. They continued to chip away at the Warriors lead as Addie Penick hit a three pointer to put them within six.
The Warriors were not done as Kaliah Kendrick kicked off the final quarter with a layup. Tristen Berry laid the ball up into the basket and was fouled on the play to earn the and-one basket. Jump shots by Maddie Futch put the Lions back within three points of the Warriors. However, Lexi Greffen sunk a three pointer with just over three minutes on the clock to give the Warriors a 60-54 point advantage. Southern Wesleyan attacked the basket again with layups by Berry and Rahkhia Mack to win the game in a 64-56 final score.

Southern Wesleyan will take part in tConference Carolinas Championship Tournament. The first round of the tournament will be held on March 3.
