How It Happened

The Tornado attacked quickly as Anderson Moore took a shot on the net, but the Warriors defense prevented the shot from landing.  Southern Wesleyan countered as Federico Guerra and Gabriel Melendez each sent the ball toward the net, but each of their attacks were blocked by the Tornado defense.  Feren Nunez wove around the defense and sent the ball toward the bottom center of the net, but Gauthier Lumale dove on the ball to prevent Southern Wesleyan from gaining the upper hand.  Southern Wesleyan continued to challenge as Tipton Wright went on the attack, but King's defense blocked his attack.  Paul Ogunboye crossed the ball over to Bay Moore who headed it into the goal to score in the final seconds of the half to give the Tornado the lead.

Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gate as Alberto Esquivel attacked the net, but once more Gauthier Lumale collected the ball to prevent the Warriors from equalizing.  The Warriors persisted with another attack by Esquivel, but it just missed the net.  Joe Elliott looked to extend King's lead as he sent the ball toward the goal, but Luke Bramblett intervened to keep the Tornado advantage at one.  Noah Koch took the ball down the far side of the field and crossed it toward the net, but the Warriors offense was unable to capitalize on the play.  Ricky Sexton went on a breakaway and got past the Warriors defense to score to extend King's lead to 2-0.  Despite late shots by Josiah Pitts, Dillon Bennett and Diego Hernandez, the Warriors fell in the a 2-0 final against the Tornado.
