Young Harris, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell in a hard fought battle against the Young Harris Mountain Lions in a 2-0 final score on Tuesday evening.
The Warriors totaled seven shots with six being on target during the match-up against the Mountain Lions. Feren Núñez led the Warriors with two shots. Six Warriors including Nunez put up solo shots on goal. Luke Bramblett played eighty-seven minutes in goal and totaled 11 saves.

How It Happened
The Mountain Lions took the first shot of the night as Thomas Kleinpenning took a shot on the net, but Luke Bramblett dove in front of the ball to keep Young Harris off the board. Gabriel Melendez drove toward the net and took a shot on the goal, but Ian Aycock got up in the air to collect the ball and prevent the Warriors from scoring first. The Warriors maintained the pressure as Feren Núñez took a shot on the net, but it just missed left of the goal. Brody Schroeder took a run on the net, but his run was just called offside to stop the Warriors offensive attack. Young Harris pressed on as Thomas Kleinpenning took a shot on the goal, but Luke Bramblett swatted it away. However, Sergio Llopart followed up with a shot that just barely sailed over the top of the net. The match remain in a 0-0 tie going into the half.
Southern Wesleyan and Young Harris each maintained the intensity in the second half in an attempt to break the stalemate. Jorge Oteiza took a shot on the goal, but Luke Bramblett dove over the ball to prevent the ball from finding the back of the net. The Mountain Lions continued their attacks as Charlie Wilde took the ball toward the net, but once again Bramblett saved the attack on the net. Noah Koch drove the ball toward the net, but a diving stop by Ian Aycock prevented Koch's attack from meeting the back of the net to give the Warriors the lead. The Mountain Lions took the first goal of the match as Jorga Oteiza headed the ball past the diving Bramblett. Brody Schroeder took another attack on the net, but once again Aycock collected the attack on the net. Young Harris pressed on Thomas Kleinpenning followed through on a rebounded ball to score the second goal of the game for the Mountain Lions and give them a 2-0 goal victory.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return home on October 10 as they host the Emmanuel Lions at 7:30pm. They will then hit the road to Rome, GA on October 12 to take on the Shorter Hawks at 3:30pm. The Warriors will remain on the road on October 16 as they travel to Due West, SC where they will take on the Erskine Flying Fleet at 3:30pm
