How It Happened

The Lions went on the attack early on in the game as Maddie Futch hit a three pointer and Addie Penick put up a jump shot.  A layup by Kaliah Kendrick allowed Southern Wesleyan to get on the board.  However, more baskets by Penick and Futch extended Emmanuel's lead to eight.  Shelby Glance passed the ball over to Lexi Greffen who fired off a jump shot.  Glance hit a turn around jump shot of her own to keep the Warriors within six.  Sydney Wyatt laid the ball up into the basket to extend the Lions lead to ten.

Emmanuel maintained the intensity in the second half with a layup by Tyasia Freeman.  After Abby Crawford hit a three pointer, the Warriors countered with a basket out of the hands of Tristen Berry.  Shelby Glance laid the ball up into the basket.  Lexi Greffen sent the ball beyond the arc to Kaliah Kendrick who fired off her first three pointer of the game.  However, back-to-back three pointers by Naomi Roberts allowed the Lions to extend their lead to 41-19 at halftime.

Tyasia Freeman jumped started the Lions scoring in the third quarter with a layup.  Alexis Glover took the ball to the basket for a lay up.  However, Addie Penick sent the ball out to Abby Crawford for a three pointer to extend the Lions lead further.  The Warriors kept the Lions from extending their lead for three minutes in the quarter before Crawford hit another three.  Both Asia Pearly and Taylin Smith were fouled and made free throw baskets.

Southern Wesleyan kicked off the final quarter with a layup by Lexi Greffen.  Shelby Glance passed the ball beyond the arc to Kaliah Kendrick.  Kendrick sunk the three pointer.  Southern Wesleyan pushed on as Greffen and Alexis Glover each put up layups.  The Warriors shut down the Lions offensive until just under the six minute mark when a foul allowed Sydney Wyatt to take free throw shots.  A three pointer by Naomi Roberts gave the Lions a twenty-eight point advantage with just over four minutes left on the clock.  Taylin Smith and Asia Pearly each laid the ball up, but the Warriors fell to the Lions in a 79-55 final score.
