Final: University of Mount Olive 3, Southern Wesleyan University 2

Records: University of Mount Olive (2-5-1), Southern Wesleyan University (2-7-1)

How It Happened:

The opening stages of the match were quite even between the two teams, but the Warriors took a massive injury hit just five minutes into the game when Feren Nunez was subbed off. The star junior would return to the game, but not until the second half. Both squads managed to create a fair amount of chances, but it was Marco Iniguez who was the busier of the two goalkeepers. The Trojans took the lead in the 39th minute through Babacar Fall after a defensive miscue led to an open net and an easy finish for Fall. The Warriors' best chance of the first 45 ensued immediately after the kickoff but Diego Hernandez couldn't convert from ten yards out. Mount Olive had a great start to the second half, scoring two goals in the opening twelve minutes; one from from Novian Williams and one from Pablo Herrera. However, the Warriors would get back into the game with two goals in the 85th minute. Feren Nunez assisted Brody Schroeder on a counter-attack, and a short corner-kick routine was put away with a brilliant header from Ryan Rodriguez. SWU had a chance to even the score in the 89th but an Angel Padilla shot was well saved by Axel Engren, sealing the win for Mount Olive.

Noah Kock was named the "Warriors' Spark Plug of the Game", a team-selected award for a player who brought high energy and an impactful performance. Koch was very good again for the Warriors, breaking up plays in the midfield and connecting passes to create chances.
