How It Happened

The Pacers took the early lead as Mozingo singled to allow the first run of the game to cross home plate.  USC Aiken would not relent as they plated five more runs in the bottom of the second inning to extend their lead to 6-0.

Southern Wesleyan challenged in the top of the third and fourth innings to get runners on the bases.  However, the Pacers would not let the Warriors attacks pay off and cut into the USC Aiken's lead.

USC Aiken continued to push ahead as a double by Tripp and a home run by Parker extended the Pacers lead to 10-0.

The Warriors continued to put up a fight.  With one out, Cam Mitchem singled up the middle and then advanced to second on a wild pitch.  TJ Highsmith came in to pinch hit and then doubled down the right field line to bring Mitchem in to score.  A single up the middle by Patrick Walker allowed Highsmith to score to allow the Warriors to cut further into the Pacers lead.

Southern Wesleyan pressed on in the top of the ninth inning to cut into USC Aiken's lead.  Luke Staton led off the inning by reaching on a walk.  Back-to-back walks to Travis Hammond and Jackson Mix loaded up the bases.  Blayze Haddock knocked a single to left field to bring both Staton and Hammond in to score.  With one out, Chance Fogel walked to load the bases once again.  Patrick Walker hit a single to center field to bring both Mix and Haddock across home plate.  However, the Warriors fell to the Pacers in a 10-6 final score.
