Banner Elk, NC – Southern Wesleyan fell to Lees-McRae in the double header on Wednesday afternoon. They dropped the first game in an 8-0 final and 9-0 in the second game.
The Warriors picked up two hits off the bats Talissa Cannady and Andi Grae Wingate. The Warriors walked three times. Ella Grace Lawton started game one and pitched 3.1 innings while striking out two batters.
Southern Wesleyan was unable to pick up a hit in game two. Both Andi Grae Wingate and Ryanne Yarborough walked, and Addi Johnson and Emmy Copeland were hit by pitches. Emma Jo Wolfe started game two on the mound and pitched 1.1 innings while striking out one batter. Jaelyn Montfort came in to pitch in relief and pitched 2.2 innings while striking out one.

How It Happened
Game One
Lees-McRae took the early lead as home runs by Buckner and Gast put them on the board. They went on to extend their lead with runs in the fourth and sixth innings to win game one in an 8-0 final.
Game Two
The Bobcats took an early 2-0 run lead in the bottom of the first inning of game two. They went on to shut out the Warriors hitters while plating seven more runs in the second and fourth innings to take game two in a 9-0 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Belmont, NC on April 13 to take on the Belmont Abbey Crusaders and 1 and 3 p.m. They will then return to Varsity Field and Central, SC on April 15 as they host the North Greenville Crusaders in a double header beginning at 2 p.m. The Warriors will wrap up the regular season on April 22 as they host the Converse Valkyries.
