Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the non-conference match up against the Anderson Trojans on Tuesday evening in a 12-3 final score.
The Warriors picked up five hits in the loss against the Trojans.
Patrick Walker doubled.
TJ Highsmith led the team with two of the three RBIs. Both
Noah Wiggins and
Josh Long walked.
Clifton Olmstead started on the mound and pitched four innings while striking out two batters. Olmstead went on to pick two runners off the bases. Six Warriors came in to pitch in relief.
Cord Babcock also struck out two. Both
Aidan Evans and
Mikah Gustavson struck out solo batters.

How It Happened
The Trojans took the early lead as Montgomery singled through the right side to bring both Hernandez and Fox in to score. They extended their lead with runs in the top of the third and fourth innings.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Noah Wiggins led off by reaching first on a walk and then advanced to second on a passed ball. With one out, Wiggins advanced to third on a wild pitch. After a twelve pitch at bat,
TJ Highsmith singled up the middle to bring Wiggins across home plate. An error by the pitcher allowed
Patrick Walker to reach first base and moved Highsmith to second.
Josh Long followed with a single through the left side to bring Highsmith home and put the Warriors down 4-2.
Anderson continued to push ahead as they brought two more runners in to score in the top of the fifth inning. A single by Andress allowed Anderson to take a 7-2 run advantage in the top of the sixth. The Trojans would not relent as they brought five more runs in to score in the eighth.
The Warriors challenged in the bottom of the eight inning.
Noah Wiggins reached first on an error by center field and then advanced to second base. A fly out by
Cam Mitchem allowed Wiggins to advance to third base.
TJ Highsmith ground out to the short stop to bring Wiggins in to score. However, the Warriors fell to the Trojans in a 12-3 run final.
What's Next
The Warriors will travel to Gaffney, SC on April 12 to take on the Limestone Saints. Southern Wesleyan will then return to Central, SC on April 14 and 15 as they host the University of Mount Olive Trojans. Senior Day will be celebrated prior to first pitch on April 15. They will then travel to Aiken, SC to take on the USC Aiken Pacers on April 19 at 6 pm. The Warriors will host the Erskine Flying Fleet on April 21 and 22. On April 22, the Warriors will host their Annual Military Appreciation Game.
