Mount Olive, NC – Southern Wesleyan dropped both games in the double header against the University of Mount Olive Trojans on Saturday afternoon. They dropped game one in a 6-1 final score and then game two in a 17-0 final score.
The Warriors picked up four hits in game one. Sarah Prater doubled, and Emma Jo Wolfe had a triple. The lone RBI of the game came off the bat Talissa Cannady. Southern Wesleyan walked five times and Charity Dennis had a stolen base. Wolfe started the game on the mound and pitched four innings while striking out one batter.
Southern Wesleyan recorded four hits in the second game. The Warriors walked three times and Talissa Cannady had the lone stolen base for the Warriors. Autumn Barnhardt started game two and pitched 1.2 innings. Ella Grace Lawton and Jaelyn Montfort came in to pitch in relief. Montfort had the lone strikeout.

How It Happened
Game One
Southern Wesleyan took the first run of the game in the top of the first inning. Emma Jo Wolfe led off the inning with a triple to left field. Talissa Cannady hit a single to left center field to bring Wolfe across home plate to put the Warriors on top 1-0.
The lead was short lived as the University of Mount Olive attacked the plate in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-1 run lead. The Trojans pushed on with runs in the fifth and sixth innings to win game one in a 6-1 final score.
Game Two
The Trojans attacked early in the second game of the afternoon as they brought in 10 runs to score in the bottom of the second inning. They went on to score in the third and fourth innings to take the second game in a 17-0 final score.
What's Next
The Warriors will remain on the road on April 4 as they travel to Due West, SC to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet. They will return to Varsity Field on April 5 as they welcome the Emmanuel Lions to Central, SC for a doubleheader beginning at 2 pm. Southern Wesleyan will then travel up to Banner Elk, NC on April 12 to take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats.
