Dahlonega, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the University of North Georgia Nighthawks on Tuesday evening in a 6-1 final score.
The Warriors collected eight hits against the Nighthawks.
Travis Hammond led the team with three hits while
Jackson Mix followed with two hits. Mix had a double.
Cam Mitchem had the lone RBI of the evening. The Warriors walked two times and Hammond had a stolen base.
Mikah Gustavson started on the mound for the Warriors. He pitched four innings and struck out three batters. Four pitchers came in to pitch in relief.
Josh Fenton followed Gustavson in strikeouts with two.

How It Happened
North Georgia struck first as they brought two runs in to score in the bottom of the first inning. They pushed ahead with runs in the bottom of the fourth and seventh innings to take a 6-0 run lead over Southern Wesleyan.
The Warriors challenged in the top of the ninth inning.
Josh Long reached first by being hit by a pitch. A sacrifice bunt groundout by
Marty Grisso allowed Long to advance to second.
Cam Mitchem then singled to center field to bring Long in to score. However, the Warriors fell to the Nighthawks in a 6-1 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain on the road on March 9 as they travel to Bristol, TN to take on the King Tornado at 2:30. They will conclude the series against the Tornado on March 11 with a doubleheader beginning at noon. The Warriors will return to Dr. C Keith Connor Field on March 14 to host the Georgia College. They will then host the UNC Pembroke Braves on March 17 and 18.
