How It Happened

Young Harris kicked off the second quarter with a layup by Kamryn Bates.  However, the Warriors regained their seven point advantage on a jump shot by Jordan Race.  Race passed the ball down below the net to Dynasty Shegog who put the ball into the basket.  An off the dribble hand-off by Kamryn Bates to Lilly Griffith allowed the Mountain Lions to cut into the Warriors lead, but Southern Wesleyan would not back down as Asia Pearly put up a jump shot.  Tristen Berry went down the right side of the lane and laid the ball up to extend the Warriors lead to 25-16.  Lexi Greffen stepped beyond the arc and sunk a three to give the Warriors their largest lead of the game at twelve points.  The Warriors led the game 30-20 going into the locker room.

A shooting foul by the Mountain Lions allowed Dynasty Shegog to come to the free throw line to kick off the third quarter.  Shegog sunk both her free throws to extend the Warriors to 12 points.  However, Young Harris countered with back-to-back baskets by Crystal Corley and Trinity Edwards.  Lexi Greffen collected a pass from Taylin Smith and stepped beyond the arc for a three pointer.  Shelby Glance and Taylin Smith sunk back-to-back three point baskets to extend their lead to 41-29 with just over five minutes left on the clock.  The Mountain Lions cut the Warriors lead down to six points on a jump shot by Trinity Edwards.
