How It Happened:

The Crusaders came out firing on Saturday, having three corner kicks and three shots in the first 14 minutes. Fortunately for the Warriors, Marco Iniguez, who would be named the Warrior's Spark Plug of the match, was brilliant in net today. He is in the midst of a great run of form, and today was another top performance. Iniguez made a number of top saves, but it was the ones early in the game to keep SWU level that were the most important. On the other end of the field, the Warriors didn't do much by way of chance creation to match the efforts of Iniguez. Their best opportunity of the half came in the 38th minute, when Josiah Pitts did well to beat a couple of defenders from his left back position and find Gabriel Melendez just inside the box, but Melendez didn't trouble the Crusader Goalie Michel Weber.

Shortly into the second half, NGU would put away one of their chances. In the 51st minute misplaced pass left the Warrior back line vulnerable, as Kalvin Semedo cut around the outside of the defense and pulled it back to Leo Vasconcelos who put the Crusaders ahead. At that moment, North Greenville sensed blood in the water. They created four shots in the next five minutes, but again Iniguez was up to the task. The Warriors would dominate possession for the remainder of the game, but still never really threatened the Crusader net. It was another disappointing result for the Warriors who fall to 0-7 in Conference Carolinas play.

What's Next:

SWU will remain on the road for the next two matches, facing Erskine on Wednesday, October 11th and Young Harris on Saturday, October 14th.
