How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan took the double point of the afternoon after winning all three doubles matches. Sarvesh Maria and Julio Lopes Polesi defeated Houston Medlock and Alberto Nunez in a 6-4 final. Parker Willis and Fabian Segreda defeated Roman Webb and Mike Porcelli in a 6-3 final. The team of Enzo Marcheschi and Cole Farren defeated Chris Bale and Patrick Dempsey in a 6-4 final.
In the singles play, the Warriors took four of the six matches. Sarvesh Maria won the first match with a 6-1 and 6-1 victory over Alberto Nunez. Parker Willis forced a third set after claiming the first set of 6-3 and then dropping the second 5-7. Willis was able to win with a 1-0 final set (10-8). Enzo Marcheschi went on to win the No. 4 set with a 6-1 and 6-0 final. Fabian Segreda wrapped up the Warriors win in the No. 5 set with a 6-3 and 7-6 (7-2) final set.
What's Next
The Warriors will travel to Franklin Springs, GA to open up Conference Carolinas action against the Emmanuel Lions. They will then host the Lees-McRae Bobcats and King Tornado on March 25 and 26.
