Belmont, NC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the final game of the season to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in a 98-61 final on Thursday evening.
The Warriors shot 30.6% from the field in the loss to the Crusaders.
Shelby Glance led the team with 12 points with
Brittany Mack following her with 10. The Warriors had 12 assists with both
Lonesha Lee and
Allie Newberry each having three. Southern Wesleyan rebounded the ball 28 times.
Nakia Hooks led the team with eight. Both Glance and Newberry had blocks in the game. The Warriors stole the ball away five times.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan took the first basket of the game as
Sasha Schoenborn raced down the court and put up a three point shot to give the Warriors a 3-0 advantage. However, the Crusaders countered with a three point shot out of the hands of Keyanna Spivey to tie the game up.
Brooke Henricks stepped beyond the arc and put up a three point basket to put the Warriors back on top. Belmont Abbey pushed ahead with baskets by Spivey to put them ahead by one. With just under five minutes left in the quarter,
Shelby Glance put up a three point shot to put the Warriors within four of the Crusaders.
Tristen Berry kicked off the second quarter with a three point shot to put the Warriors down 26-14. However, the Crusaders continued to push ahead with shots by Keyanna Spivey and Brittany Autry to give them a fifteen point lead. Despite trailing the Crusaders, the Warriors continued to fight as
Brittany Mack and
Nakia Hooks put the ball up into the net. With just over a minute left in the second quarter,
Caroline Reese stepped beyond the arc and sunk a three.
Allie Newberry laid the ball up to put the Warriors down 31-50 at halftime.
The Warriors took the first point of the third quarter on a jump shot by
Shelby Glance, but the Crusaders regained a nineteen point lead on a layup by Brittany Autry. Belmont Abbey would not relent their attacks as Taylor Stelley and Autry scored to give them a 56-33 point advantage. With just over four minutes left in the quarter,
Brooke Henricks sunk a jumper. The Warriors continued to fight as
Sasha Schoenborn fired off a shot from beyond the arc to put them down twenty-four points to the Crusaders.
Shelby Glance collected a pass from
Lonesha Lee and took a shot from beyond the arc to put the Warriors down 49-76 at the start of the fourth courter.
