Milledgeville, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Georgia College Bobcats on Friday evening in a 74-46 final score.
The Warriors shot 32.7% from the field.
Tristen Berry led the team with 11 points. She was followed by both
Brooke Henricks and
Brittany Mack with seven points each. Southern Wesleyan picked up three assists. Of the 30 rebounds, Henricks led the team with five. Both
Nyah Garner and
Rachel Page collected four rebounds. Berry had the lone block of the evening. Southern Wesleyan recorded 11 steals.

How It Happened
Georgia College charged out of the gate as a layup by Dashaun Jackson gave them the early lead. The Bobcats took a 10-0 point lead before a jump shot by
Caroline Reese put the Warriors on the board. Georgia College would not relent as back-to-back threes by Alexis Figures allowed them to extend their lead.
Brooke Henricks and
Tristen Berry each laid the ball up, but the Bobcats continued to push ahead.
The Bobcats took a twenty-five point lead on a three pointer by Harper Vick.
Brittany Mack stole the ball away and put up a jump shot. The Warriors collected the ball once again as
Shelby Glance laid it up into the basket.
Allie Newberry stole the ball away from the Bobcats and got it down the floor to
Tristen Berry. Berry stepped behind the arc and fired off a three point shot to get the Warriors back within twenty five with five minutes left on the clock. However, Georgia College led 51-15 at halftime.
Georgia College pushed further ahead in the third quarter as a layup by Harper Vick allowed them to extend their lead to 53-15. However, the Warriors fought back as
Brittany Mack laid the ball up in the paint.
Shelby Glance collected the ball and stepped beyond the arc to sink her first three point shot of the evening. Southern Wesleyan maintained their intensity as layups by
Tristen Berry and
Brooke Henricks allowed them to cut Georgia College's lead down to twenty-six points. Myra Strickland put up a three to allow the Bobcats to take a 61-29 point lead.
Down by thirty-seven
Nyah Garner collected an offensive rebound and then laid the ball up into the net. The Warriors continued to chip away at the Bobcats lead on back-to-back layups by
Tristen Berry.
Caroline Reese stepped beyond the arc and sunk a three with three minutes left on the clock. However, Georgia College countered with a layup out of the hands of Alexis Figures to keep them ahead by twenty-six. Despite a last second layup by
Alexis Glover, the Warriors dropped the game in a 74-46 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will continue in the CC/PBC Conference Challenge on November 12 as they take on the Augusta Jaguars at 3 p.m. They will remain on the road on November 16 as they travel to Bluefield, WV to take on Bluefield State. The Warriors will then travel to Gaffney, SC to take on the Limestone Saints on November 19 at 2 p.m.
