How It Happened

The Braves struck quickly in the first half as Anna Grossheim passed the ball up to Naomi Fountian who put it into the net to give UNC Pembroke a 1-0 lead.  Southern Wesleyan challenged back as Nadya Perez took a shot on the goal, but Chiara Choppin saved the attack.  The Braves would not relent their attacks, but Amanda Magnin and the Warriors back line stayed strong to prevent UNC Pembroke from extending their lead.  The Warriors attacked back as Fianna Steves, Madi Wurst and Cayla Hughes sent the ball toward the net.  However, each of their attacks were thwarted by the Braves defense.

UNC Pembroke attacked early again as Abigail Lowry scored the second goal of the afternoon for the Braves.  The Braves continued to attack with several more shots on goal, but Amanda Magnin dove in front of the ball to prevent all their attacks from landing in the net.  Southern Wesleyan countered as Karla Gordon drove the ball toward the upper corner of the net, but Anna Bass jumped up last minute to save the attack and prevent the Warriors from cutting into the Braves lead.  UNC Pembroke continued to push ahead as they scored four more times to win the game 6-0.
