Sumter, S.C. - Southern Wesleyan dropped their match in the opening round of the 2021 Conference Carolinas Tournament to the Lees-McRae Bobcats in a 4-2 final on Friday morning.

Anya King fell 5-3 to Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin. In the No.2 slot Maria Kotsiou and
Natalie White fell to Zeynep Cakirer and Mei Hiramatsu in a 6-0 final and
Camille Cunningham and
Noemi Aguirre dropped their set 6-2 to the Bobcats pair of Laura Ocampo and Tessa Wells.
In singles play, Southern Wesleyan took two wins to go 2-4.
Ameek Batth secured a win in the No. 1 spot as she defeated Sandy Allen 6-3 and 6-0.
Anya King pressured but eventually dropped her match to Zeynep Cakirer in 6-3 and 6-2 final scores. Maria Kotsiou secured the second win on the day for the Warriors with a 6-4 and 6-3 win over Nursharneem Shamsuddin of Lees-McRae.
Noemi Aguirre also pressured the Bobcats but fell to Mei Hiramatsu in 6-3 and 6-4 final scores. In the No. 5 slot
Natalie White challenged with 7-6 and 5-2 scores but she fell to Laura Ocampo.
Camille Cunningham would go on to drop her match to Tessa Wells in 6-4 and 0-1 final scores.
