How It Happened

Emmanuel charged out of the gate with shots on goal by Shane Cronin and Will Fraser Gray, but Will Hughes and the Warriors defense deflected their attacks. Southern Wesleyan countered with an attack down the field, but an off sides call deterred their attack.  The Lions took the lead on a goal by Cronin.  Trey Greenwood collected the ball and sent it into the bottom center of the goal, but Guiliano Palma kept the Warriors from tying the game.

The Lions maintained the pressure in the second half, but the Warriors continued to counter each of their attacks.  Shots by Harrison Wright and Cronin were blocked or sent wide.  Zayn Sutton got around the Emmanuel defense and attack the net, but his shot went right to keep the Warriors from tying the game.  Despite more attacks on the goal by the Lions, the Warriors would not let them extend their lead further.  Emmanuel went on to win the game 1-0.
