How It Happened
Maria Aspasia Kotsiou and
Natalie White challenged the team of Luciana Prudencio and Ada Vargas in their match-up, but the Bulldogs persevered as they won in a 6-4 final.
Ameek Batth and
Anya King went on to challenge in their doubles match-up before dropping the match in a 6-3 final.
In singles play,
Maria Aspasia Kotsiou took down Eimear Maher with 6-4 and 6-4 final scores.
Anya King followed with a win of her own as she defeated Grace McCartney in a 6-2 and 6-1 final.
Noemi Aguirre picked up the third singles victory as she defeated Ada Vargas 7-6 and 6-3. Tied up with the Bulldogs, 3-3,
Ameek Batth was the last Warrior to compete in singles play. Batth took the first set 7-6 before dropping the second 6-3. With the final singles' match tied up, Batth battled back to win the final set 6-2 and give the Warriors a 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs overall.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will next welcome the Emmanuel Lions to Rev. Leroy C Cox Tennis Complex on March 30. They will then host the Converse Valkyries at 11 a.m. on April 10. The Warriors will then travel to take on the North Greenville Crusaders, Lees-McRae Bobcats and King Tornado.
