How It Happened

Game One
Southern Wesleyan and King challenged each other in the first game of the series, but neither were able to gain the upper hand as both Megan Vaughn and Nikole Counts were able to shut out the batters to keep the game scoreless.  King scored the only runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth on back-to-back doubles to give them a 2-0 victory.

Game Two
King struck early in the second game as Foster led off with a triple.  With Foster on third, Puckett drove in the first run and then a home run by Turner put them ahead 3-0.

Southern Wesleyan began to chip away at the lead in the top of the third inning.  With two outs, Savannah Huff hit a home run over the center field wall to put the Warriors down 3-1.

The Warriors tied the King Tornado in the top of the fifth inning.  Megan New led off with a walk.  With Bethannie Perrine pinch running for New, Addie Nugent singled through the left side to advance Perrine to second.  Haley Bertie laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance both base runners up 90 feet.  Claire Ellsion grounded out to second base to bring Perrine in.  A throwing error by the short stop allowed Savannah Huff to reach and bring Nugent home to tie the game 3-3.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Sams delivered a walk-off double to give the Tornado a 4-3 victory.
