How It Happened

King took the first points on a driving layup by Darron Howard, but Southern Wesleyan countered as Julian Cameron sunk a driving layup to tie the game up.  A layup by Ta'Jay Dunlap put the Warriors on top by two.  The Tornado countered with a layup by Connor Jordan to tie the game back up.  The Warriors would not let up as Hunter Davis passed the ball up to Tranard Ferrell who laid it up to put the Southern Wesleyan Warriors back on top.  Julian Cameron sunk back-to-back three point shots to give the Warriors a 12-4 point advantage with just under seventeen minutes left in the first half.  The Warriors kept up the intensity as a layup by Solomon Smith gave the Warriors a 13-point lead.  King countered as they broke Southern Wesleyan's 15-0 run as Desmond Davis sunk the ball from beyond the arc.  However, the Warriors extended their lead to 21-7 on a layup by Dunlap.  King continued to fight the Warriors attacks, but Arusha Hunter collected a pass from Ferrell and stepped beyond the arc to extend the Warriors lead to 15 points with eleven minutes remaining.  Baskets by MJ Foust and Michael Mays put the Tornado down 28-13, but Davion Bradford laid the ball up to give Southern Wesleyan a seventeen point lead.  Layups by Dunlap and Hunter put Southern Wesleyan up by over twenty points.  Cameron sunk the ball from beyond the arc to extend the Warriors lead to 37-13.  A driving layup by Isaiah Curry allowed the Tornado to come to back within twenty of the Warriors with just over four minutes left in the first half of the game.  The Warriors would not relent as Arusha Hunter collected a rebound and passed it up to Solomon Smith who drove the ball to the net to push Southern Wesleyan's lead back up to twenty points.  King continued to fight back as Connor Jordan laid the ball up to put them down 45-28 at the half.

The Tornado took the first points on a pull up basket by Connor Jordan, but Ta'Jay Dunlap put up a driving layup to keep the Warriors lead at seventeen points.  King would not let up their attacks as Isaiah Curry collected an offensive rebound and passed it over to Michael Mays who stepped beyond the arc to put the Tornado down 47-33.  A second three point shot by Mays allowed King to come within 11 points.  Southern Wesleyan was not discouraged as Hunter Davis dunked the ball into the basket.  Davion Bradford passed the ball over Ta'Jay Dunlap who stepped beyond the arc to sink a three to extend the Warriors lead to 52-36.  King continued to challenge with baskets by Jordan and Brandon Lamberth, but a jump shot by Tranard Ferrell and a three pointer by Julian Cameron allowed the Warriors to maintain their seventeen point lead.  Back-to-back layups by Mays and Lamberth allowed the Tornado to come back within twelve points with just under thirteen minutes left in the final half.  However, the Warriors countered with a tipped in layup by Hunter Davis.  Dunlap passed the ball up to Davion Bradford who dunked the ball into the net to push Southern Wesleyan's lead back up to eighteen points.  Seconds later, a second basket by Bradford allowed the Warriors to regain their twenty point advantage with just over ten minutes left in the second half.  King challenged with a layup by Shan Jenkins, but a jump shot by Julian Cameron kept the Warriors on top 73-52.  Cameron continued to attack the net as he received a pass from Davis and stepped beyond the arc to fire his eighth three pointer into the net and put the Warriors ahead 76-54.  A driving layup by J'Son Brooks allowed the Tornado to get back within twenty points of the Warriors, however a three pointer by Arusha Hunter pushed the Warriors back ahead by twenty-three.  Southern Wesleyan would not relent their attacks on the basket as Davis, Cameron and Dunlap attacked the net to put the Warriors on top 87-60.  Hunter Davis collected a pass from Cameron and drove the ball to the net for a layup to put the Warriors lead a 91-69.  Southern Wesleyan went on to win the game in a 93-70 final score.
