Tigerville, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the North Greenville Crusaders in a 2-0 final on Tuesday evening.
The Warriors took 14 shots, with two being on goal, in the loss to the Crusaders on Tuesday.
Hykeem Martin and
Feren Nunez each had three shots, while the lone shots on goal came off the feet of
Zayn Sutton and
Jose Rangel. Southern Wesleyan had four corner kicks.
Will Hughes played all ninety minutes in goal for the Warriors, collecting seven saves in the process.

How It Happened
The Crusaders attacked early with a shot by Gareth Greene, but his shot was blocked by the Warriors defense. Southern Wesleyan countered with shots by
Hykeem Martin and
Feren Nunez, but the Crusaders thwarted the Warriors chances of taking the lead. The Warriors would not let up as
Zayn Sutton took a shot on goal, but Reno Van der Meer saved the ball from reaching the back of the net. Despite several offensive attacks, the Warriors and Crusaders remained tied 0-0 at the half.
The Crusaders charged out of the gate in the second half, scoring within the first two minutes of play off the foot of Soto Kubo to take a 1-0 lead over Southern Wesleyan. North Greenville would not relent on their attacks on the goal, but
Will Hughes and the Warriors defense challenged each one to keep the Crusaders from extending their lead further.

Southern Wesleyan will next host the Chowan Hawks on October 16 at 2:30. The Warriors will then travel to Franklin Springs, GA to take on the Emmanuel Lions on October 19 at 7:30 p.m. They will return to Childs Field on October 23 as they host the USC Union Bantums in exhibition play for senior day.
