Box Score DUE WEST, S.C.- Four players scored in double-digits in Southern Wesleyan's 80-71 loss to Erskine.
Noelle van Zadelhoff posted a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. She also blocked five shots. Aneysa Williams scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. Taylor Vinson scored 15 points, pulled in six rebounds, and had two steals. Chelsie Waters scored ten points and grabbed three rebounds.
The Warriors (4-18, 1-15 CC) shot 50.0 percent from the field in the first half and led by seven at halftime. They held the Flying Fleet (12-10, 11-5 CC) to 37.5 percent from the floor in the first half.
Erskine re-took the lead in the third quarter with a 16-8 run. Southern Wesleyan went on a 10-8 run to lead by one entering the fourth quarter. The Flying Fleet regained the lead with 7:19 remaining and never let it go as they outscored the Warriors 15-6 the rest of the way to close out the game.
"Our team played hard tonight and we just did not finish plays in the fourth quarter," said Warriors Head Coach John Davis, "I am proud of how we are competing and more importantly I feel like we are growing as a team. We will continue to work hard and move forward."
Southern Wesleyan next hosts Mount Olive Feb. 12 for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
