SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan shot 29.9 percent from the field in its 85-61 loss to Converse.

Chelsie Waters scored 13 points, dished out three assists, and pulled in two rebounds. Shelby Gilbert scored nine points and grabbed three rebounds. Cayse Branyon scored eight points and had two rebounds.

The Valkyries (6-19, 5-16 CC) shot 40.5 percent from the field as they led by eight points at halftime. The Warriors (4-23, 1-20 CC) were held to 29.0 percent from the floor. Converse only shot 39.0 percent from the field in the second half, but made 15 of their 16 free throw shots to close out the game.

Southern Wesleyan will play their regular season finale Feb. 26 as they host Pfeiffer for Senior Day.
