SWU Prevails in Conference Win Against Converse

Paige O'Connor and Sarah Hughey combined for 21 kills as Southern Wesleyan defeated Converse in Conference Carolinas volleyball.

The 3-0 win over Converse allowed the Warriors to not only win their fifth consecutive match, but brought their conference record up to 5-2.

SWU won the first set 28-26 in a close debate between both schools.  Southern Wesleyan went on to win the second match 25-18.  Converse took an early lead in the third set, but SWU regained control and held on to win the last set 25-9.

"It's always awesome to get a road win in conference," stated head coach Julia Reininga.  She added, "Converse was a tough, inspired team tonight, but I'm proud of how the girls battled back after a tight first set!"

Annika Jones compiled 31 assists and Milica Stamenic contributed 15 digs in the win for the Warriors.

SWU returns to Tysinger Gymnasium to defend their home territory against the North Greenville Crusaders on October 8.  This is the first of five consecutive home matches for the Warriors.
