The Warriors could not gain the upper hand against the Flying Fleet as they lost 3-0. The Flying Fleet won 25-17 in the first set and 25-18 in the second. The Warriors were able to take an early lead in the third set of the afternoon, but they were unable to hold onto the lead as the Fleet of Erskine came back to take the third set 25-20.
"Tough match on the road today!" said Head Volleyball Coach Julia Reininga. "Proud of the adjustments the team made, we will continue to work hard!"
Annika Jones contributed with 22 assists and Milicia Stamenic gained 13 digs in the loss to the Flying Fleet. The loss brings the Southern Wesleyan record to 11-10 and 9-4 in Conference competition. The Flying Fleet are now 15-8 and 12-2 in Conference Carolinas.
The Warriors will return home to play against Converse on Tuesday, November 1 for Faculty & Staff Appreciation at SWU. Warrior Volleyball will remain at home November 4 to take on the Bulldogs of Barton College and will celebrate Senior Night during the match.
