Warriors Win Exciting Match Against Emmanuel College

It was an exciting match for the Warriors as they beat the Lions 3-0.  The Warriors took an early lead in the first set and hold on to it to take the win 25-17and pull ahead to lead the game 1-0.  The Lions battled back in the second set to take an early lead, however they were not able to keep the Warriors down.  Together the team came back and won the second set 25-23.

The energy in the Historic Tysinger Gymnasium rose as the Warriors and Lions fought it out with each team taking the lead in turn.  It came down to a tie game of 24-24 in the third set.  The energy in the student section rose as the Warriors pulled ahead to win the third and final set 26-24.

"Proud of the team tonight!" Said Head Coach Julia Reininga.  She continued, "They fought hard in some tough situations! Excited to get back on the court tomorrow!"

Annika Jones gains 33 assists in the win, while Milicia Stamenic contributed with 10 digs.  The 3-0 win against the Lions improves the Warriors record to 10-8 and 8-2 in Conference Carolinas play.  The Emmanuel College Lions' record becomes 7-12 and 5-6 in conferences.

The Warriors will return to Tysinger Gymnasium tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. where they will take on the Erskine College Flying Fleet for Homecoming Weekend at Southern Wesleyan University.
