Warriors Fall to Saints

Box Score

GAFFNEY, S.C.‑ Four players scored in double-digits in Southern Wesleyan's 103-93 loss to Limestone.

Kenny Holmes scored 29 points and pulled in seven rebounds. Darius Sharpe scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. DJ Dobson scored 13 points and pulled in three rebounds.

The Saints (6-12, 4-6) started the game with an 8-0 run for an early lead. The Warriors (2-17, 1-10) cut the lead to three points with a 45-40 run to close out the first half.

Southern Wesleyan took the lead at the 18:24 mark of the second half. They stretched their lead to three points, but that would be the largest it would get as Limestone outscored the Warriors 50-37 to close out the game.

"The guys played very hard tonight," said Warriors Head Coach Charles Wimphrie, "We've had several setbacks this season. Tonight we didn't connect on free throws and it cost us the victory. However, we are beginning to mature in many areas. The freshmen are gaining valuable experience which will be rewarding in the future."

Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Lees-McRae Jan. 29 for a 7:30 pm contest.
