Warriors Fall to Emmanuel 64-45

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan women's basketball couldn't keep pace with Emmanuel on Saturday, falling 64-45.

After taking an early lead, the Warriors fell behind by 16, 30-14 as Emmanuel broke open an 8-8 tie with a 22-6 run. SWU shot a season-low 27.6 percent from the floor and just 17.6 percent from long range. The Lions shot 42.3 percent overall and made 4 of 16 from beyond the arc.

Bri Seda led the Warriors with 16 points on 6 of 14 shooting and also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Cayse Branyon came off the bench to score 10 points. 

Emmanuel took a 37-19 into halftime as the Warriors were held to 25 percent shooting. Seda scored 10 of her 16 in the first half as all of Branyon's 10 came in the second half.

Brooke Strickland added five rebounds and three steals for the Warriors while Christiana Perkins pulled down five rebounds and scored seven points.

The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday as they close out Conference Carolinas play at North Greenville at 5:30 p.m.
