Box Score CENTRAL, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan men's basketball team fell at the hands of Erskine by a score of 85-61 in Tysinger Gymnasium Tuesday night. The game was the first in conference play for both teams as Erskine improves to 3-1 overall (1-0 in Conference Carolinas) while Southern Wesleyan falls to 1-4 and 0-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Darius Sharpe lead the Warriors in scoring, tallying 14 points in the loss. Zach Watson scored eight points while Jerome Wimphrie, Jeremy Wert and Zalan Richards all added seven. Tyus Gaines has five assists and two steals while Jamaral Kearse led the Warriors with six rebounds.
Erskine was led by Joby Glymph who scored 28 points in the contest. Brannon Dark and Ray Lock had 18 points apiece to help the Fleet's cause.
The Flying Fleet finished with a field goal percentage of 48.2 while holding Southern Wesleyan to just 34.5% from the field in the game. The Fleet also took 19 more free throws and had six less turnovers, both of which factored into the score.
Southern Wesleyan returns to action this weekend in the Kentucky Wesleyan Classic in Owensboro, Ky. Friday, Nov. 27 the Warriors square off against Michigan Tech at 2 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 27 the team will play Northern Michigan at 3 p.m.
