Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's basketball won their third game in four tries on Tuesday, defeating Bob Jones University 72-63 in nonconference action.
The Warriors (7-11) were led by Brooke Strickland for the second straight game. The freshman matched Saturday's output of 15 points, this time all 15 came from beyond the arc. Strickland knocked down 5-of-9 from long range.
Cayse Branyon added 14 points and Kiara Coleman scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds to record her fourth double-double of the season.
SWU shot just 39 percent from the floor but forced 20 Bob Jones turnovers, turning those into 24 points. The Warriors led basically throughout the entire game, though never able to really pull away from the Lady Bruins. An 8-2 run midway through the second half gave the Warriors a 10 point lead at 57-47 gave SWU some extra breathing room. They later pushed the lead up to 12.
The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday as they host Faulkner University to Tysinger Gymnasium for a SSAC contest at 6 p.m.
