Balanced attack leads Warriors to fourth straight win

CENTRAL, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan pushed their winning streak to four with a 3-0 sweep of Emmanuel on Friday night in Conference Carolinas action.  The win secures the first two points for the Warriors in this year's Lil' Bronze Peach series which is an annual competition between the two schools.

SWU (15-5, 6-0 CC) had little trouble disposing of the Lions (9-9, 3-5 CC) in picking up their 11th sweep of the season, with winning scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-20.  Cherilyn Ramsey led the way with 11 kills and a .346 attack percentage as the Warriors hit .262 for the match.  Emmanuel came in with a .037 attack.

Ramsey also added a team-high 16 digs as Courtney O'Brien chipped in with 12 and Alysia Cruell added 10.  Megan Widener led the team with 32 assists.  Sarah Hughey added eight kills and five total blocks as the team registered one solo block and 12 block assists.

Balance was the key to victory for the Warriors on this night as three players totaled eight kills in the match to go along with Ramsey's effort. In addition to Hughey, Jacinta Hoffpauir and Cruell each had eight kills on the night.  Emmanuel was led by Erica Burnham's eight kills.

These two teams will meet again in Franklin Springs, on Halloween night as another two points are up for grabs in the Lil' Bronze Peach series.

The Warriors have a quick turnaround as they welcome in Erskine, the only other undefeated team in Conference Carolinas.
