Warriors Bounce Back, Snap Two Game Slide

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan volleyball snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Brenau University on Friday night in SSAC action.


The Warriors won in straight sets for the sixth time in SSAC action and have won eight straight away from Tysinger.  SWU improves to 21-9 overall and 8-2 in the SSAC to stay tied for second in the SSAC standings.


Cherilyn Ramsey led the Warriors with 14 kills and hit .545 for the match.  The Warriors hit .246 for the match including a .306 clip in the second set which they won 25-14.  SWU took the first set 25-16 and the third 25-17.  Brenau hit just .060 for the match and was led by Pamela Konken with six kills.


Megan Widener led all players with 34 assists and also added six kills and 12 digs.  Kelsey Deerinwater led all players with 20 digs.  Hayley Hoover added 17 digs and five kills for the Warriors.  Courtney Williams added nine kills on 27 attempts.


SWU travels to Faulkner on Saturday for a 2 p.m. match.
