How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan attacked early as Makala Latsch drove the ball toward the net, but it did not find the net.  Mount Olive quickly countered as Jaelyn Brown scored the first goal of the game to give the Trojans a 1-0 advantage over the Warriors.  The Trojans continued to attack as several players attacked the net, but Jen Golio and the Warriors defense continued to react to all of their attacks.  Molly Wanning pressured the Trojans, but Taylor Lewis got in the way to keep Southern Wesleyan off the board.  Two more goals by Mount Olive put the Trojans up 3-0 at the half.

Southern Wesleyan would not give up as Rachel Curtis and Ashley Romanowski drove the ball to the net, but Taylor Lewis and the Mount Olive defense deflected all of their attacks.  The Trojans were not done, scoring two more goals to give them a 5-0 lead.  However, the Warriors would not let up as Romanowski beat the Trojan defenders and got past the keeper to score her ninth goal of the season and put Southern Wesleyan down 5-1.  Bryanna Pickens and Cayla Hughes each took shots on the goal, but neither paid off as the Warriors fell in a 5-1 final score.
