"The women's team had a solid first tournament of the season. The team is still young, with a lot of room for improvement. We are ready to get back to work over the next two weeks to prepare for the King's Tournament in Bristol, Tennessee."
How It Happened
Emily Anderson led the Warriors in their first tournament of the 2019-20 season. Anderson shot a first round score of 79 and a second round score of 80 to give her a total round score of 159 and put her in a tie for 10th place. She was followed by junior Jesse Dalton. Dalton shot an 83 in the first round and an 86 in the second round for a 169 total round score. Her score put her in a tie for 26th place.
They were followed by Kaylia McIntyre. McIntyre shot an 88 in the first round before coming back to shoot an 85 for a 173 total round score to secure her a 34th place finish. She was closely followed by freshman Emileigh Swords. Swords shot an 82 in the first round and a 92 in the second to give her a 174 total round score and put her in a tie for 35th place.
Tatiana Tait wrapped up the team score for the Warriors. Tait shot a 92 in the first round and an 85 in the second for a 177 total round score that put her in a tie for 40th place. Freshman Rachel Page wrapped up the Warriors scores. Page, competing as an individual, shot an 102 in the first round and a 96 in the second round to give her a 196 total round score and put her 47th place.
Southern Wesleyan will then travel to the King Invitational on September 23-24. The Warriors will kick off the month of October at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, GA on October 14-15. They will then conclude their fall season at the Jekyll-O-Lantern Intercollegiate on October 28-29.
