Warriors Sitting in Tie for Fifth After Round One

Anderson, SC – Southern Wesleyan is sitting in a tie for fifth place after the first round of the Anderson Invitational on Monday.

How It Happened

Emily Anderson led the Warriors in the first round of the tournament.  Anderson shot seven over par to give her a 79 first round score and put her in a tie for 10th place.  She was followed by freshman Emileigh Swords in a tie for 22nd place after shooting a first round score of 82.  Swords was followed closely by teammate Jesse Dalton.  Dalton shot 11 over par to give her a first round score of 83 and put her in a tie for 25th place.

Sitting in a tie for 37th place is Kaylia McIntyre.  McIntyre finished the first round 16 over par with an 88.  She was followed by Tatiana Tait.  Tait shot a 92 in the first round of the tournament to put her in a tie for 43rd place.  Competing as an individual, freshman Rachel Page shot a first round score of 102 to put her in 49th place.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the Anderson Invitational tomorrow.  They will then travel to the King Invitational on September 23-24.  The Warriors will kick off the month of October at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, GA on October 14-15.  They will then conclude their fall season at the Jekyll-O-Lantern Intercollegiate on October 28-29.
