Warriors Have Rough Outing In Loss To Wolves

Newberry, SC – Southern Wesleyan was swept by the Newberry Wolves on Friday afternoon with final scores of 8-0 and 8-0.

Southern Wesleyan was unable to record a hit in game one.  Amber Belk had the lone walk for the Warriors.  Hunter Hoskins started the game for the Warriors and pitched two innings while allowing two hits.  Lucy Wolff came to pitch in relief for Southern Wesleyan.

Southern Wesleyan posted six hits in the second game of the afternoon.  Megan New had a double during.  New and Amber Belk both had a stolen base in the loss.  Josie Edwards started the second game.  Edwards posted one strikeout while allowing nine hits.  Hunter Hoskins came in to pitch in relief.

How It Happened

Game One

The Newberry Wolves took an early lead in the bottom of the second inning to put them up 3-0 over the Warriors.  The Wolves went on to win the first game 8-0.

 

Game Two

Newberry struck first in game two of the series, scoring four runs in the bottom of the third inning.  The Wolves won game 8-0.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will return to Varsity Field on March 10 as they take on the Catawba Indians at 1 and 3 p.m.  They will remain at home on March 12 as they take on Mississippi University for Women.
