Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan picked up their second Conference Carolinas victory of the season as they defeated the North Greenville Crusaders in an 82-74 final score.
The Warriors shot 47.0% from the field and went 78.6% from the free throw line in the victory over the Crusaders. Ta'Jay Dunlap led the team with 25 points. Dunlap was followed by Clenzo Ross with 19 points and Solomon Smith with 13. Jalen Lowery led the team with four of the 16 assists in the game.
Southern Wesleyan recorded 39 rebounds with Solomon Smith and Ta'Jay Dunlap each recording seven. They were followed with three Warriors with five rebounds apiece. Jalen Lowery, TJ Harvin and Clenzo Ross each had two steals during the game. Cameron Holmes had the lone block of the day.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan came out swinging in the first half as Jalen Lowery made a 3-point shot to put the Warriors on top 3-1. North Greenville countered to take the lead off a 3-point shot by DJ Brooks and a jump shot by Jalon Cokley. However, the lead was shot lived as Clenzo Ross made a layup to allow the Warriors to regain a 7-6 point advantage. Ross continued to pressure, making a three pointer and a layup to allow Southern Wesleyan to extend their lead to 14-12. The Warriors would not let up as Hunter Davis and Solomon Smith made back-to-back layups. Southern Wesleyan continued to take the ball from North Greenville and pressure down the court with back-to-back 3-point jump shots by Ross and TJ Harvin to give the Warriors a 30-18 point lead. A last second 3-point jump shot by Ta'Jay Dunlap put the Warriors up 40-31 at the half.
North Greenville struck first in the second half as Mason Zick made a jump shot, but the Warriors quickly countered with a layup by Hunter Davis. Southern Wesleyan pushed onward, going on a six point run before free throws by Jalon Cokley allowed the Crusaders to score. The Warriors did not let up the pressure as Tranard Ferrell passed the ball up to Clenzo Ross, who dunked it into the net to put the Warriors on top 54-37. The Crusaders countered with back-to-back 3-point baskets by DJ Brooks, but the Warriors would not falter Solomon Smith made two layups of his own. Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Aiken, SC to take on the USC Aiken Pacers on December 7. They will then travel to Bristol, TN to take on the King Tornado on December 11. They will remain on the road on December 14 as they face the Limestone Saints in Gaffney, SC. The Warriors will then return to Central, SC to host the Lees-McRae Bobcats on December 18.
