Central, SC - Southern Wesleyan fell to the North Greenville Crusaders in a 66-61 final on Tuesday evening.
The Warriors shot 40.0% from the field in the loss. Javon Hunter led the team with 18 points and was followed by Jalen Lowey with 12 and Diego Poore with 10 points. The Warriors recorded 23 rebounds. Hunter and Poore led the team with five each. There were nine assists from Southern Wesleyan, Lowery led with three. Zalan Richards had the lone block for the Warriors. The guys set a new school record with 15 steals in one game and was led by Lowery with six.

How It Happened
The Crusaders struck first in the contest with a jump shot from Daniel Burchette, but Jalen Lowery countered to put the Warriors on the board. Javon Hunter answered a missed shot from North Greenville with a 3-pointer to put the Warriors ahead 5-2. SWU led 9-2 before a pair of Crusaders free throws added two to their score. The Crusaders were able to gain the led momentarily, before a bucket from Bryson Williams tied it 16-16. The Warriors led for a majority of the first half and a 3-pointer from Jacob Smith sealed the led at halftime, the Warriors leading 30-29.
The Warriors came out firing in the second half, going on an early 10-0 run to lead 40-29. The Crusaders slowly chipped away at the lead, but shots from Diego Poore and Javon Hunter maintained the led at 51-44. A basket from North Greenville's Ryan Mobley tied the game 58-58 with less than five minutes remaining in the game. The Warriors fought to catch up and despite late free throws from Hunter, the Crusaders went on to win the game 66-61.
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Erskine on February 16 to take on the Flying Fleet at 4 p.m. They will then host the Emmanuel College Lions on February 20 at 7:30 p.m.
