Crosby Named New Faculty Athletics Representative

Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan is excited to announce Dr. Joe Crosby as the new Faculty Athletics Representative for the Warriors.

Dr. Crosby has a regular presence in Historic Tysinger Gymnasium over the past few years.  Currently serving as the Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sport Management, Crosby works directly with the sports information department to help prepare students to get more involved in the world of athletics.  He also has been involved in strength and conditioning supervision as well as other forms of physical training with several of the Warrior teams. 

"Dr. Crosby has been a huge support to athletics in the past," said Director of Athletics Chris Williams.  "He and his department has partnered with athletics providing game day support while giving his students first-hand experience which supports their degree programs.  As the FAR – Crosby will only continue to build partnerships across campus supporting innovative learning and real life experiences.  He has a wealth of experience in compliance during his days at Clemson so this new position will only strengthen Warrior Athletics going forward!

Prior to coming to Southern Wesleyan, Dr. Joe Crosby received his bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees from Clemson University.  He has a Doctor of Philosophy in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management.
