Warriors Take Third In Conference Carolinas Championship

Concord, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan takes third in the Conference Carolinas Championship with a final time of 2:07:52, just a second behind Belmont Abbey in second place.

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan finished in third place, just seconds behind Belmont Abbey.  Alana Grant led the way for the Warriors in the championship race, finishing in 16th place with a time of 24:56.5.  Grant was followed closely by sophomore Hanan Balawi to take 17th place with a time of 25:07.4

Freshman Kyra Hood finished in 23rd for the Warriors after crossing the finish line with a time of 25:32.6.  Hood was followed by Hayley Singletary to take 29th.  Singletary finished with a time of 25:53.6.  She was followed by Sarah Reeves.  Reeves finished in 33rd place with a time of 26:21.3.

Dakota Gillespie came in with a time of 28:36.7 to take 46th place in the championship.  Kaitlyn Phillippo followed Gillespie with a time of 31:20.4.  Her time gave her a 56th place finish.

The Warriors will next compete in the NCCAA Southeast Regional Championship hosted by Bob Jones University on October 28.
