Lynchburg, VA - In the impressive indoor track facility on the campus of Liberty University, the men's program turned in another quality list of performances. This 40 team meet concluded the slate of January races. The squad appears primed for a February of many excellent performances as they inch towards The Conference Championship in three weeks' time.
Coach Thiel says...
"It was exciting to watch our kids compete hard this week, and to come away with some season bests and school records was great. Looking forward to another week of training and a chance to get healthier before we compete again."
Track Event Highlights:
500m: Shonquez Caldwell claimed his first individual school record in this 2.5 lap race with an impressive time of 1:06.14. Caldwell placed 7th of 28 and 1st of all D-II racers.
800m: Thomas Williams, freshman from Birmingham, AL, broke his own school record all while breaking the 2 minute barrier with a time of 1:59.44
Southern Wesleyan will next compete in the Buccanneer Invitational on February 2-3 in Johnson City, TN.
