New Record And Personal Bests Lead Warriors At Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, NC - Wake Forest hosted a 32 team Invitational this weekend. The Men of Southern Wesleyan Track and Field represented well. Though not all of the team was in action, many impressive performances were had. Still early in the indoor season, the Warriors are battling their way to early success and improvement.

 

Track Event Highlights:

60m: Nick Edwards (SR) made his presence felt early in the day with a solid 60m time that placed him in the finals. Edwards closed the event with 7th place of 74 competitors.

400m: Dymitric Ray posted a time of 50.83. This run was a breakout performance for the freshman. Dymitric Ray secured a 6th place finish out of 67 racers.  

60m Hurdles: Leonard Holmes had the largest improvement on the day. Holmes narrowly qualified for the finals of the 60m Hurdles with a tie of 8.60 seconds, taking the final spot. But the sophomore took advantage of his finals, he crossed the finish line in 2nd place with a personal best and school record 8.37 seconds.

Southern Wesleyan will next compete in the Liberty Kickoff hosted by Liberty University on January 26-27.
