In First Meet, Several Finish in Top 15

Southern Wesleyan's Men's Track & Field team competed at the Clemson Invitational hosted by Clemson University on Saturday, January 14.

Two Warriors score within top twenty in the Men 60 Meter Dash.  Senior Jhante McMillan finished in 13th with a time of 7.01, and Nick Edwards finished in 18th with a time of 7.08.  Freshman Jannai Maxwell finished in 12th with a time of 22.79 in the Men 200 Meter Dash and in the Men's 300 Meter Dash Johnny Bogert scored in the top 10 with a time of 37.97.  In the 500 Meter Run, two Warriors made the top 10.  Marquise Jackson finished in eighth with a time of 1:07.39 and teammate McMillan followed him in ninth with 1:07.74.

In the Men's 60 Meter Hurdles, Leonard Holmes finished in sixth with a time of 8.63.  Southern Wesleyan's 4x400 Meter Relay of Marquise Jackson, Najarius Green, Jhante McMillian and Jannai Maxwell finished in eighth with a time of 3:28.80.  In the long jump, Junior Cortney Hunt finished in tenth with a distance of 6.06m, and in the Triple Jump, Javon Barmore finished in sixth with a distance of 13.61m.

Four Warriors finish within top 15 in Men's Weight Throw.  Freshman Craig Nowinski finished in eleventh with a 11.66m.  Nowinski is followed by Samuel Sparks with a distance of 9.01m, Jake Wicks with a distance of 8.55m and Keautai Robinson with a distance of 5.70m.

 

What's Next

The Warriors will next compete in the Wake Forest Invite in Winston Salem, NC.  The Invite is hosted by Wake Forest and will held on January 21.
