Southern Wesleyan Bested By Anderson In Season Opener

Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell in the home opener tennis match of the 2018 campaign in a 7-2 final to the Anderson Trojans.


How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan went 1-2 in doubles action in the loss to the Trojans.  Stan Grzeslo and Sam Bakker claimed the only victory for the Warriors after taking down the Trojans 8-5.  Urs Widow and Siggy Menzel fell 8-4, and Daniel Bolivar and Joseph Olatunji were bested in an 8-2 final.

In singles action, the Warriors with 1-5.  Sam Bakker claimed the win for the Warriors taking Anderson's Wilson 6-1 and 6-4.  Siggy Menzel and Joseph Olantunji both forced their matches to three sets, but were bested by the Trojans in the end.


What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will next travel to take on the Brevard Tornados on February 3 at 1 p.m.  On February 9, they will return home to take on Benedict at 3 p.m.
