Anderson, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Anderson Trojans in a 3-1 final on Wednesday evening.
The Warriors posted eight shots with Sergio Tapia leading the team with two of those shots. Romanov Jean, Grant Kiker and Sergio Tapia each posted one shot-on-goal. Kiker scored the lone goal for the Warriors. Miguel Uribe played the whole game in goal for the Warriors, posting six saves while allowing three goals.

How It Happened
The Trojans led off taking a shot that went high, but Southern Wesleyan's Romanov Jean countered to take a shot on goal that was saved by Trojan goalkeeper Gal Elyashiv. Anderson struck first in the game to take a 1-0 lead. Sergio Tapia countered with a shot on the goal, but the ball was unable to meet the net as Anderson goal keeper took it out of play. At half, the Trojans lead 1-0.
In the second half, Anderson fought hard, but Miguel Uribe and the Warriors defense kept them from lengthening their lead. Twenty minutes into the second half, Southern Wesleyan fought back to tie the game. Grant Kiker dribbled around the Trojans defense to score on a shot eighteen yards out from the goal and tie the game 1-1. However, Anderson countered scoring back-to-back goals. Despite Anderson lengthening their lead to 3-1, Marcel Joseph and Jhon Peter Mareus fought back with shots for the Warriors. With seconds remaining in the second half, Juan Sebastian Castro took a shot, but the Trojan defense blocked his shot to win the game.
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Mount Olive to take on the Trojans at 4 p.m. in their last regular season game this year.
